3 Travel Chargers You Need to Have
Keeping your devices charged is an important thing to be mindful of when you are traveling. Whether you are traveling domestically or internationally a charged device makes your life easier. More than just for entertainment, many travel documents are now available on our phones. That’s where travel chargers come in.
These three travel chargers are in our bag on every trip, and think they should be in yours too.
Just a reminder, always put chargers in your carry-on and never in checked luggage. This way you are in compliance with aviation safety regulations. Also, if you checked bags get lost you aren’t stuck without your chargers.
As always all products we recommend have either been tested by us or are owned by us.
Slim Magsafe Wireless Powerbank
This travel charger a must have for multiple reasons. To start, this charger magnetically clips to the back of your phone and is compatible with most common magsafe cases. (I have a basic magsafe case and it works great. You can get it here)
Secondly, this thing is slim. It’s about the size of 4 credit cards, and when it’s on your phone you will hardly notice it. The slim profile allows the phone to sit in your pocket or bag without feeling too bulky.
This is super convenient for when you are on the go, as you can slide your phone in your pocket and not have to worry about stashing the charger back in your carry on.
It has enough juice for about 1.5 charges on most phones, making it great to take on a day trip. With the slim profile and the magsafe attachment, it’s easy to see how this charger is first on the list.
Portable Power Bank with Built in cords
Sometimes you need something with a little more juice, that can last you a few days or charge multiples devices. That’s where a portable power bank comes in. This isn’t meant to be slid in your pocket like the first charger on this list but it’s still pretty portable, easily fitting in crossbody bag.
The model we use is no longer available, but we have similar ones listed. The capacities are roughly enough to give both your phone and your Ipad at least one full charge. There is also a display screen so you can see the battery percentage.
What really makes these chargers stand out though is the built in cords. Two have a USB-A, USB-C, and lighting cable attached already so you don’t have to worry about carrying around a messy bundle of cords with you. They also USB-A, and/or USB-C ports for charging any other gadgets you may have.
Charging is also a breeze as the attached USB-A cords can be plugged into a USB port and charge the power bank. One model listed has flip out prongs and can plug right into the outlet. You are also able to charge through the USB-C ports
.As you can see the self contained design of these chargers earned a spot on our list of must have chargers.
Foldable 3 in 1 wireless charger
Rounding out our must have chargers list is this foldable 3 in 1 wireless charger. This is the stationary charger you have on the nightstand next to your bed in your hotel or hostel room.
It plugs into the wall or USB-A port, and has a wireless charging pad for your phone, airpods, and your apple watch. Before you go to bed, you can place all your items on the charger pads and sleep well knowing they will be charged when you wake up.
We are not sure their compatibility with all wireless charging devices, but the phone and air pods charging pad can be used interchangeably, so in theory you could charge an extra phone instead of airpods.
The best part about this charger is that it folds up and is ready to easily fit in your carry on. This is also a great charger you can take to the office or even just have at home. This charger saves you from having to bring multiple chargers for all your devices and earned itself a well deserved spot on our list.
Bonus: Universal Travel Adapter
Depending on where you are headed, the local outlets may be different than the ones at home. Be prepared with this universal travel adapter. It works with all outlet types and has surge protection. Best part, it has a USB-A and a USB-C plug built right in!
Summary
As you can see, all the travel chargers listed above serve to make your travel experience better and more convenient.
